Bloods Up From Night Before?

Hi, everyone. I'm New to diabetes having been diagnosed only 4 weeks ago. I'm confused as last night going to bed my blood was 131 and this morning 141. I have had nothing to eat and cannot understand why. Any ideas or explanations please. I cannot ask my nurse because she told me not to test my blood. But after advice from here I'm glad I did.

This is known as the "dawn phenomenen" where the liver releases glucose to fuel you for the day. I have quite high morning levels even when the late evening one is OK and I have not eaten or drunk anything. So long as you stay in the normal range I wouldn't worry.

If you have been diagnosed as diabetic you should be testing to see what you can and can't eat.
 
Thanks Arab horse. I'm not quite sure wat is a normal level. I'm thinking around 130 but my nurse has told me nothing. Apart from I don't need to test. I got the advice from here and bought myself a glucose testing machine. Because as u say I don't know which foods effects my bg otherwise. Thanks for the explanation of my increase this morning.
