Hi all,

I'm thinking about getting the Nightrider, but I was just wondering what happens when the device can't send the result to the phone. For example, when it's out of range, out of battery, or the bluetooth connection is in use for something else, like music (very common in my case).

I know the Libre sensor stores up to eight hours of data, so I assume it would just dump the missing data as soon as the connection is restored, but would be grateful for confirmation, please.

thanks!

Yes youre right the data stays missing ! I dont wear mine at the moment in the day im in exam situations and various alarms would overide the silent mode.... when i get home and plug in there is no data for the day. A small price to pay for a brilliant peice of kit imo .

Okay, thank you. What about multiple bluetooth connections? For example, if I'm driving, and my phone is connected to the car stereo over bluetooth (for calls and/or music), will it share the bluetooth connection with the NightRider?

Im not tech minded but there is a thing in the app that connects all devices ??? It uses more data and can drain the battery ...apparently ! It uploads to cloud and that stuff but there is no instruction manual so you will rely on people here i just use alarms and the prediction after you enter carbs and insulin ...i dont rely on it thats dangerous , but its EVER SO helpful .

Well I emailed Ambrosia, and I got the following helpful response.

The data will be transmitted to your phone even when you are on call or using for any other activity. Distance between phone and device should be 18-20 feet.

Phone charge more than 50% and internet connection is needed for no interference on taking readings. Yes you can use Bluetooth for other devices as well. Sometimes it might effect disconnections(it will connect back auto after few mins)

It does not work on airplane mode.(sorry for that).

That’s great to know.Thanks!
