Blurred Vision

Hi guys, I just have a query i have had diabetes for 5 years and have started to get blurred vision that lasts for approximately 15 minutes followed by a really bad headache. This generally happens when playing sport and i check my level and it is usually between 3 and 5 so fairly low.I have a feeling that it has something to do with my level falling really fast but i am not sure so would love some opinions. Has anyone else had a similar experience? or better still does anybody know what causes it?

Have you checked with doctor? Could it be a Migraine and really have nothing to do with your diabetes?
 
Sure sounds like migraine to me. Do you feel nauseous too?
I've had it all my life and it wasn't in any way connected to the diabetes, which I've had 6 years or so.
 
Have you had your eyes checked recently? Visual disturbances while playing sport could indicate an eye problem which in turn is giving you a migraine.
 
Agree with the others, it may be a result of a rapid BG drop but it may equally be a migraine.

Mine used to start with a feeling of apprehension, pretty pastel-coloured flickering around the edges of my visual field and sometimes a feeling that sounds were actually occurring on the surface of my eardrum rather than out in the world. THEN someone would clamp a steel band round my head and start tightening. Any of that sound familiar at all?

Curiously I *never* had ordinary headaches and these were rare, which I thought was a pretty good trade-off, and even more curiously since controlling my BG I haven't had a one.
