Has anybody ever experienced blurred vision with low blood sugar? I thought this was only caused by hyperglycemia and it's never happened to me before.
However this evening I felt like I was having a hypo, tested and was 4.2 which I've been many times before and never felt shaky or strange at this level. My vision was also blurred in one eye and has only now returned to normal after eating dinner. Diabetes related or not?

hey @Hollieo4
really sorry to hear you have had a rough evening !!

as we are all different it is hard to generalise -- but I definitely get blurry vision with low bloods -- normally in the range 2.4-3.1
( also -- BG meters are not totally accurate so your 4.2 reading could be a range between about 3.5 - 4.8 )
hope you have got the low sorted

Hi Hollieo4,

I get blurry vision with both high and low levels. I only really noticed it about 6 years ago and been diabetic for 32 yrs!!

Hope you don't worry too much

Thanks all! I was curious more than anything - never happened before!

If you haven't had an eye check recently I would suggest that you have your eyes tested to.make sure that nothing else is going on

Hi,

Getting blurry vision is one of the signs I look for (no pun intended......) when I am starting to get very low. I started getting low today at work, as a teacher I'm usually on my feet most of the time and so spot hypos from the more conventional signs,(are there more conventional signs?). Today I was sitting down marking, my vision started to blur and I immediately checked my sugar, was a little low 70 (sorry I use the other system. can't do the conversions.) for me. I managed to catch it before it went any lower and carried on with my work.

On occasion. Not frequently.
