A diabetic friend of mine used to travel often. He was a drug rep for a company that made insulin ! He used to wear two watches. Not because he was a shady watch dealer but so that he could leave one watch on 'home' time and change the other as he travelled through time zones. That way he could keep better track of when he had last eaten and taken insulin starting from the last dose at home.
Once settled at his destination he would work the timing of his insulin and meals to 'local time'.
He would then reverse the process on his way home.
