Good Morning.

I am Type 2 diabetic and am seeking your advice in my morning routine.

When i wake up i am taking my metabet tablet and have to have something to eat alongside this. I am taking 2 x small bottles of the Actimel 0% yoghurt drink.

Is this okay?

There is 0 carbs etc in this it says on label.

Oh right I have just looked at asda website and actimel yogurt drink have 11.7. Carbs 11.6 sugar per 100gram ( per bottle)

Hi @Threeandeasy

I think you may be a bit confused about your label reading - don't worry it happens to the best of us - according to the label you have posted one bottle of the actimel has 3.7g carbs - you don't need to worry about the sugar as it's the total carbs that matter. - the 0% you are looking at are probably the fats - which you don't need to worry about too much either.

This makes your 2 bottles in the morning about 7.5g carb - no one can tell you if your ok with that or not - you need to be testing your foods to see what you can tolerate. Have another read of the info daisy posted on your other thread, and keep asking questions if you need to - it's how we all learn

No, it has 3.7g carb per 100g of product. You have to do the math. If there is 200g in the container, multiply 3.7 by 2. If there is 170g, multiply 3.7 by 1.7. If there is 460g, multiply by 4.6, etc, etc.

You are right @RuthW - it is all about calculating - I did check before giving my answer to OP and luckily on this occasion the calculation was easy as there is 100g in each bottle
 
And if there is 100g per bottle as is the case then you multiply by 1.0

OK, I didn't see any total on the bottle and got a bit alarmed that the OP might get a nasty hyper. I prefer the labels that explicitly state the total for the bottle/pack as well.
