Perhaps old news, but I just came across this recently. Waitrose cafe near me is doing a bunless burger.

Comes with coleslaw and salad rather than chips, so pretty low carb, as long as you don't have too much of the ketchup or salad dressing.

Base cost is £7.25, plus 95p for the bacon and cheese upgrade (recommended). Bit pricy for me to have regularly, but nice to see something so explicitly low carb on a mainstream cafe menu. And it tasted good.

I am a coeliac as well as type 1 and i occasionally visit Macdonalds with my wife and son who like that sort of thing.
You can ask for any burger type meal without the bun and this then becomes a gluten free meal as per the coeliac society.
Not my first choice but so we can all eat together its ok.
The meal comes on a tray with a plastic knife and fork so is actually a little bit more civilised.

Regards
Tony
