Yes, but I was in hospital with some symptoms of DKA, high ketones and high glucose level .. don't know how high I was after eating but the fasting test that decided they needed to admit me was 385mg/dl (21.3mmol/l). The GP wa sceptical when I told him I thought I had diabetes (don't blame him he'd never seen me before and I was very, very thin by then). He told me to go to the lab for a fasting test next day and said that if the results were above 126mg/dl to come back , I think he thought he'd never see me again. (in fact, he's only seen me once more in 6 years, my diabetologue seems to act as my GP!) The lab faxed the results to him and by midday I was in a hospital bed. They took 'armfuls' of blood and that was one of the tests. I only know it was 'negative', though I'm pretty sure that like most people diagnosed as adults I have a bit of beta cell function still there.
