C-peptide Who's Need It ?

I have seen many members speak about this type of analysis C-peptide but I can't know what is it exactly I know this test for testing insulin levels but who's Need it type1 or type2
Any advice

It's a measure of how much insulin is still being produced by the pancreas. The test can thus be a proxy for how much beta cell damage has been done. It can be useful (along with GAD antibodies) in ascertaining if the person is Type 1 or Type 2. It can also useful for assessing whether a Type 2 has endogenous insulin insufficiency and whether injecting insulin will be an appropriate treatment for them.
 
Thank you, but did you mean that type 2 patients may also have a problem with beta cells ?
 
Yes, especially if they've had poorly controlled Type 2 for a long time. I believe there are also genetic factors that can influence insulin production levels.
