Perhaps the answer is to stop buying them and empty your cupboards of any you already have. Then you can't eat them. Try nibbling on some cheese or a few nuts instead. Sorry, but there is little else I can say.
You've had some good advice. I will only add that stopping cakes is the best option! However if you are happy to bake your own, you can replace sugar with sweetners and flour with ground almond flour(or coconut flour) which will both reduce the carb content. Personally though I prefer to to just not eat cakes at all.
I bake my own. There are lots of recipes for low carb cake on line. Best thing to do is to cut it into small slices and freeze it in individual bags so you aren't tempted to eat it all at once!

I used to freeze slices of cake so I couldn't eat it and I remember once sitting in a bath trying to thaw out a slice of Christmas cake with the steam coming from the hot water tap!
I'm with @Mongolia - definitely bake your own low carb ones - there are some yummy recipes around. One of our own members @ewelina has a diabetic baking blog. But also look both here in our low carb recipes thread on the forum or use Google to search for low carb microwave or 1 minute muffins, these are delicious and quick and easy to make.
If you can't be bothered to search through the recipes on the low carb baking forum then there are a couple of recommendations from folk on this thread...
