Wholemeal bread and fruit and fibre cereal is high carb stuff and will cause higher blood sugar levels.no chocolate no high carb stuff
Thanks for the reply,I have been doing really well for a while controlling it,I haven’t been in good health the last few weeks as I’ve been having tests on my heart due to being anemic which has given me really bad palpitations the only thing I can think of is that I don’t really have an appetite so I’m not eating as well, could my body be storing sugar as it thinks I’m starving or something, should I probably try eating small amounts more often would this help ?Welcome @Maddie1072
Metformin won't bring your blood sugar down, it doesn't work in that way. It works by restricting the amount of stored glucose your liver releases into your blood. It can do nothing about the glucose that's already in there
Wholemeal bread and fruit and fibre cereal is high carb stuff and will cause higher blood sugar levels.
All carbohydrates when digested will raise your sugar levels, the only difference between white bread and wholemeal is that the wholemeal takes a little longer to digest, but the carbs will still raise your levels, just a little slower.
The trick is to avoid the high sugar levels by cutting out as many carbs as you can,

It all depends on what you eat, regular small amounts of carbs is just going to keep topping up your blood sugar. If your blood sugar is high, the energy that sugar would have given you is just coursing through your veins, it's not feeding you.storing sugar as it thinks I’m starving or something, should I probably try eating small amounts more often
Thankyou so much for this advice I will take it on board and hopefully in a few days it might lower my bloods,I have lost 2 stone too with the fasting diet but probably my bad health issues aren’t helping at the moment, thanks againIt all depends on what you eat, regular small amounts of carbs is just going to keep topping up your blood sugar. If you eat mainly protein and healthy fats, keep the carbs to a minimum. No bread, pasta, rice, cereals, stick to above ground non starchy veg. You will be giving your body what it needs, good healthy nutrition.
