Hang in there Mrs O ...
I was diagnosed on 8 August 2012, so that's 13 weeks ago.
I had numerous health problems and I felt about 112 back then and was ready to give up the ghost to be honest.
I've been on Metformin SR 2000mg since then, and fortunately I didn't experience the sickness and toilet problems that some others have had so I'm lucky in that respect. I've virtually cut out ALL simple carbs like bread, pasta, rice, cakes, cereal, biscuits etc.
Do I miss them? NO and that's the honest truth. I'm never hungry, my brain is alert again, my body is alive again and I no longer feel 112, I feel marvellous. Would I go back to eating carbs like I did before? Not on your nelly!
I'm not sure why some people suffer problems with Metformin and I've wondered if it's because they continue to eat carbs and if perhaps the carbs cause the conflict with Metformin, as it is a kind of appetite suppresant too. If anyone would like to share whether they're a Metformin user AND a carb eater AND who has such problems we might get to the bottom of it.
What kind of diet are you eating yourself?
