Hi all,
I purchased a glucoRX nexus as I was worried about my blood sugar levels.
I have not been diagnosed with diabetes however I'm still worried.

I used the control solution and got a result of 7.8mmol/L which was between the range shown on my test strips (6.4-8.8) so I'm hoping it is calibrated correctly.

I then did a blood test and got a result of 4.9mmol/L around 10 mins after eating a pizza and drinking a fruit juice. I had not eaten anything today prior to this.

I'm confused as to what all of this means - Is 4.9mmol/L good or is this bad?
My HbA1c was 34mmol/mol over half a year ago - could this have changed significantly since then?

I'm quite underweight so I was wondering if this means I need lower results than someone of average weight?

Thanks a lot,
Dan.

4.9mmol is perfect for a non diabetic

Also, ten minutes isn’t long enough for your meal to have hit your system. Test two hours after your first bite to get an idea of how you dealt with your food x

It is a very good result I do not think you need to worry that you have diabetes with a result like that. Why do you think you may have diabetes when 34 mmol is perfectly normal

I agree with the others - those results are prefectly normal, so nothing to worry over.

If you're underweight, are you actually eating enough? Some people are naturally thin - I was (at times very) underweight when i was young, but fine health wise, and only put on weight when I was older (aka middle age spread ). However since I've had diabetes my weight has had far less impact on my glucose levels than my actual diet has.

What made you worried about your blood sugar levels, prior to buying the meter ?

Your last HbA1c was 34 6 months ago, so from that result you had absolutely no sign of anything abnormal.

May I ask what symptoms, if any, did you have that warranted your GP to order the HbA1c test?

yes sounds odd. to be testing. can you tell us why your worried.
