Hello. I saw my doctor today and he suspects I have diabetes but I'm off to get bloods done tomorrow.

In 2 of my 4 pregnancies I had gestational diabetes where I had to inject insulin 3 times per day but I have always felt that it has never left me. My last pregnancy was 4 years ago.

The past few weeks I have become incredibly shaky and eat everything in sight and about an hour later I feel better but exhausted. I still have my monitor so I have for the last few days started to take note. Yesterday afternoon I almost passed out and did my levels and they were 1.5 and 2 hours later was 10.3.
On waking this morning after 9 hours broken sleep, my blood sugar level was 1.6 and after eating a basic sandwich and a few raspberries my level 2 hours later was 12.5. 3 hours later it has shot down to 3.8?

I'm not sure if this would be classed as type 1 or 2. Any help appreciated thank you.

Jane

Hi Jane,
I cant help much but didnt like to see your post without answers,
personally im type 1 and my bloods were always high, my step dad has reactive hypoglycaemia and he goes high and low, when hes hypo(under 4) he has 3 glucose tablets and was told to eat small meals and often and he has seemed to be a lot better, maybe you could try that,
i would get some glucotabs/small carton fresh orange etc to keep on you incase it drops again while you are awaiting test results,
sorry i couldnt be more helpful, hopefully someone will come along who knows
