Chips from the chippy are not out of the question so don't worry.
Having type 1 or type 2 just means you have to be carb aware.
Have you been put on a basal bolus system? IE, injecting before each meal?
Chips from the chippy work out at about 10 carbs for 6 medium sized chips
There's a fabby book called carbs and calories which might be a great help for you. http://www.carbsandcals.com/
Not to sure about mushy peas if they are the same as processed peas then they are 14 carbs/100gms
Plaice fried in batter 14 carbs/100gms
plaice breadcrumed and fried is 9carbs/100gms
cod fried in batter 7 carbs/100gms
Hope that helps
Breaded plaice normally weighs in at 7 or 8 oz so minimum for that would be 27 carbs.
If you havent done so buy a set of scales and weigh your foods this way you will soon get used to the carb content and then can just guestimate when out
agree with CarbsRok, that carbs and cal book is really good, definitely worth getting a copy, or you can buy the app if you have an iphone.
I'm a sucker when it comes to chippy, we have fish and chip friday in our office and I always say im going to be good, I have resisted for a few months now so not doing too bad in my new healthy regime!
