Since having diabetes i seem to get really hot at night in bed, can it be the diabetes or just me? Even in the winter i sweat and have to move to the spare room. Boyfriend says i'm like a radiator!

23 views, either you're all ignoring me, couldn't give a stuff and don't want to answer or you don't get hot at night. thanks.

Do you drink much alcohol? I find that tends to cause night-sweats and raised temperature. There are plenty of other possible other causes, hypoglycaemia being one of them; have you tested when this happens?

From what little I've read, as many as 40% of people suffer similar symptoms, and it's mostly harmless, if inconvenient.

Hi Sorry
I have just got online from having evening meal!
I get hot at night times, I told my doctor about this., as having to sleep with out blankets or anything on! Completly burning up all the time!
i get so hot!
She said this is a problem with diabties and the heat! She said make sure that you drink plenty of liquids and try to keep a eye on blood sugar levels!
Have you had your hormone levels checked of late?
When female hormones play up can cause you to heat up like anything!
I was melting everybody in the room last night!
Hope this throws some light onto it for you!
Sandy

Thanks. Nope I don't drink alcohol, on a rare occasion a can of beer but nothing else. Thanks for the stat 40% that's interesting.

that is the same as me, burning up mostly it's rubbish!
lol, drink too many fluids and be up peeing all night

not had hormones checked will prehaps mention this to my doc. cheers

Last year I suffered terribly with this. I couldn't get to sleep properly - and the sweat would run off of me (especially around my neck!).

As soon a s I re-gained control of my BG it went away...

I wish I knew the answer, because I am the same. My control isn't too bad, but it is worrying! Mind you, I did wake to my husband telling me that I was hot last night....and that hasn't happened in a while!

I'd suggest testing when it happens.

When I was little I used to have drenching night sweats, which I strongly suspect were nocturnal hypos.

OTOH it may be entirely unconnected, my Ex was a naturally hot person, especially in bed, whereas my mother has always had cold extremities. Neither of them are diabetic.

hi candigirl just read your post about sweating in the night i have been like this for a long time kicking covers off sweating all round neck not been able to sleep with it i had put it down to being over weight ive never thought of it having to do with my diabetes re sugar levels i just know its not nice ifeel more tired in the morningafter restless night
