Hi Guys

Really in a 2 & 8 today Started nights and don't seems to be able to fit everything in.

Anyway. I got my new book today Carbs & Cals and wow what a great book and so easy to see whats good and whas bad. AND if your a fussy eater like me you can make a meal with your favorite foods, Unlike some books that make the meal for you.

So my question is. I understand that if I go on a low Carb Diet Im allowed 130 carbs a day now does that mean that approx 43 carbs per meal if having 3 meals a day?

Also on food it says xxx Carbs of which xxx is sugar....Now should I be looking at the number of carbs or the sugar? If its the carb count then I have cracked it lol one item 10 carbs so i know i have 33 cabs to play with.

Cheers

its the total carbs, the bit that says of which sugars relates to how fast that content of the carbs digests therefore releases the glucose into your system but carbs are carbs, some people find they can tolerate carbs better in the morning or start of there day in your case than at the end of there day or nightime but you will have to experiment with your meter to know

and yes you can save carbs imo, i used to if i wanted a certain meal think to myself, ill eat fewer carb for brekkie so i can eat that at dinner time for example

Thank you straight to the point thats what I can handle lol

Would think it better to include carbs each meal, especially at breakfast. If I dont eat carbs at breakfast I'm.more sensitive to carbs at lunch time and require extra insulin, same if I have a carb free lunch, I need more than usual for my tea time dose. by having some with every meal (whatever amount) keeps the metabolism going. could be just.me, but by testing having different quantities at different meals you'll soon find what works for ya.

Hi,

I dont think it is better idea to have few carbs for breakfast and add that to dinner.
You have to watch your carb intake at each meal. Otherwise you will have high BG after the high carb meal. Idealy it is better to split the meal to 4 or 5 instead of 3. Eg. you can have a normal BF, some snacks some time before (say 1.5 to 2 hr) your lunch. reduce the size of luch and similarly for dinner.

worked for me, if i wanted to save 20g for a specific meal in the evening i would have say a zero carb brekkie, 10g lunch therefore saving the 20g for my dinner

We have to see what works for each of us I think. For me, spreading out the carbs throughout the day seems to work well. It's only by using our meters that we know - thank God for meters .

look into quinoa, you can prepare and load it up with all sorts of lovely flavours to make a really nice food, treat it like rice.
