Thank youHi and welcome,
It depends what portion size of the food product you chose. If it is something you only have a spoonful of, then any carbs will be fairly insignificant. If it is the whole tin or packet then up to 5g is probably fine if there are other carbs in that meal, or up to 10g if there are very few other carbs going in that meal. It is really like "how long is a piece of string". There is no real answer.
Brilliant, shall forward this to my consultant who has taken great interest in my use of LCHF. ThanksIn the opinion of a growing number of people, diabetics would do well to steer clear of as much carbohydrate as possible. I know how you feel about this claim. I went through the same thing this time last year. Before deciding on how to proceed, watch the following video. I have had a few problems with my iPad posting the wrong thing, so just in case it should be a video of a talk given by an Australian doctor called Troy Stapleton. Hope it helps you as much as the idea of low carbohydrate has helped me.

My pleasure to share. Troy Stapleton is very good at explaining things in a clear manner. Getting the facts is important, but there's no reason everything has to be full on in your face technical jargon. I think this is where Dr Richard Bernstein falls down. Without a doubt he is the leading authority on diabetes management via low carbohydrate, but he is extremely technical and matter of fact. Nothing wrong with that if you're a scientist, but a lowly music graduate such as myself struggled with some of the big words in his book!As a newbie to type 2 I found this video excellent, very concise and easy to understand. It is a gret help. Thank you.
