I have been in the building trade for 30years and have taken a sandwich every day but now diagnosed with T2
I'm a bit confused about what I should be eating.
I have looked at the carb content in many products ie
Cracker bread, ryvita, brown bread, and the content is very high.
Is there an alternative.

Some Type 2's find they can eat Burgen bread without it causing them to spike. It's an individual thing, but worth checking it out for yourself.

Fill 2 slices, if you can cope with it, with chicken, tuna, cheese, anything with high protein and loads of salad.

How about a flask of soup, lots of lovely filling soups to make, you can get those wide necked flasks for the purpose. Put in lots of veggies and chicken stock or vegetable stock. Plus a tub of full fat Greek yogurt with some berries. That should keep you going. Sandwiches are lazy but are probably the first 'fast' food. Tupperware tubs filled with salad, eggs and tuna or salmon are good too.
