Cataract surgery today - advice please.

Another piece of advise concerning reading glasses. Count up how many rooms you have in your house then buy that number plus 2 extra. I've ended up with a pair in every room, one in my coat pocket and one in the glove box, It didn't matter how much I tried to keep track of mine, I always ended up hunting around for a pair when i needed them. Another reason to try and find cheapish, off the peg ones in the chemists.
 
In the sixties, when I was a toddler, my job was to find mum´s glasses. And other things that were mislaid. This helped me develop my analytical skills and how to analyse patterns in peoples movements, something that helped me immensely as an archaeologist. Or maybe that is why I wanted to do archaeology.

Can't wait to get my eye done... It's sometimes getting ridiculous how blind I am :/

@PaulinaB, the vision is amazing! Touch wood I have avoided infection in the eye, though I have had to push my basal rate up to keep blood sugar steady so I guess either healing or infection is still going on. I'm still wearing sunglasses even on cloudy days. When I compare looking out of my operated eye with looking out of the unoperated eye, the difference is incredible. I notice it most at night actually. In low light I can see my left eye still has a massive shadow all over the centre of my field of view. I am very keen to have the left one done now. I am glad they didn't do them back to back though, as the healing has definitely taken longer than I heard non diabetics say theirs took.
 
How long did it take? I have my op scheduled on a Thursday and I hope to be back at work on Monday...

Soooo much envy! I'm staring with my left eye because it horrible, so anything will be better than it's now... I'm curious if it will ne better than my not-so-bad right eye

I had to keep my patch on until the following morning after surgery and once it was off I had no problems making cards and doing close up work. I waited 3 days before I drove the car even though my vision was back to normal I was a bit washed out myself due to having Addison's disease. Diabetes wise the surgery had no effect what so ever. Computer screens I would make sure you rest your eyes a lot or you will find until they settle you will end up with headaches.
It's very important you put the drops in for the 4 weeks. Good luck and happy seeing again.
 
So pleased to hear that things are looking good, as well as . . . . . . looking good. Long may it continue. Can I book you now for counseling, not entirely sure how long before mine need to be done.
