Hi everyone

I have successfully been using Byetta for just over 12 months and have lost just over 2 stones and reached my target. My last HBA1C in February was 6.5. I currently take 1/2 Gliclaizde in the morning, 2 Metmorfin and inject 10mg Byetta. In the evening I inject Byetta and take 1 Metmorfin.

Until the last 10 days no matter what time of day I test I would have a figure under 6.5, more than likey to be under 6.0. During the last 10 days my readings have risen to around 8.0, in fact on Saturday evening I was 10.

My last test last night was actually 3.5 then this morning after my 30 minute walk it was 8.2. I have not changed my low-carb, low fat etc. diet, still doing all my walking and exercises for my metatarsol problem, the only difference is and this happens every year as soon as it gets warm up go my readings. I also am getting the dreaded day and night flushes which obviously don't help either.

Thanks for listening from an axious Pauline

Hi Pauline,

Not really sure what to suggest. You seem to have ruled out all the other possibilities, so about the only thing left is that you may have picked up a bug. You could be getting a cold or other infection of some sort - but it just hasn't arrived yet. I always find it is amazing how much your BS can go up when your body is fighting an infection. I have had a heavy cold for several days and my BS readings are in the 8s and 9s instead of the usual 5s.

Hi Dennis

thanks for your quick reply, yes you could be right about a cold, I am working with 2 people at the moment with them and do keep going hot and feeling chilly.

Cheers.

Pauline

I know that feeling, there's a nasty bug going around which my whole family have got and last week (when I was dosed up to the eyeballs with Lemsip and Soothers) my numbers went up to 10.1!!! Think I'm going to give them a miss from now on!
