Sounds like you need to check your dosage with the doc..?
May be a little too high if you are hypoing immediately after taking it..
im on 80 mgs a day i know its early days but so far had hypos within 4 hours of taking medsone test result and people are already saying the OP is taking too much gliclazide? Yes I agree it is low, but we have no idea as to the circumstances of this low.
@debbiek keep doing regular testing and glucotabs at hand, keep a note/log of time of test results, medication, food/carb intake and exercise - if you're finding you're having to treat lots of lows then go back to your GP
Definitely check with your doc about the dosage..within 4 hours of taking meds im hypoing
Yes I'm diabetic I've been taking tablets for two days and my blood sugar dropped twice . Doctors have diagnosed me type 2So every dose of gliclazide is making you hypo? If so, are you sure you're diabetic??!!

Feb 6.5 and 10. 4 , may 6.9 , been drinking slot cant quench thirst .why are you asking this ? I was diagnosed because paramedics took blood test it was 10.2 that's how I found out I'm diabetic. Do you think I want this ?? Hell no .an no I'm not on LCHF .What were your blood test results that they based this diagnosis on? And were you feeling unwell? Have you gone LCHF since diagnosis?
Yes they are HB1AC tests sorry this is all new to me only diagnosed in febuary this year , origanlly was diet and exercise till may but was put on Metformin to begin with but that didnt agree with me at all , i am on anticoagulants so am limited to what medications i can take , i was at doctors yesterday morning , if it continues they will reduce dosage , they have not told me to be on LCHF diet , but i am watching what i eat , Diabetes is in my Family my uncle and cousin are diabetic , my aunt is pre diabetes , i will admit after diagnosis i did go into denial ate what i wanted , now i am behaving , i did have high cholesterol of 6 in feb it is now down to 4.9 . my problem is im a fussy eater and i like carbs which is now limited ,Hi Debbie I'm asking because I just thought it strange that you start on the glic' and you're hypoing constantly and regularly. Also some people get diagnosed and given medication and then hyper-LCHF and blood test results plunge!
I assume the 6.5, 10.4 & 6.9 are hba1c results which would indeed indicate you're diabetic. A one off finger prick test result doesn't mean that much though.
All the best
It's all OK, we've all been through it one way or another, we fully understand the anger, resentment and denial that some people get - you're not alone!
The good news for you though is it appears you respond (too!) well to Glic' so you're not insulin resistant! Once things calm down you can look at LCHF and just control your blood sugars with diet alone, carbs are addictive though.
