Hi!
I'm type 2, currently taking metformin and glimipiride. I had a pre-pregnancy chat with an obstetrician and she wants me to get my hba1c down from 79 (was 96) to 55.

For the past 3 weeks I've got my fasting reading down from on average 18, down to a steady 8. Still a way to go but I'm pleased with progress so far.

She mentioned I will have to stop the glimipiride and start insulin once/if I fall pregnant. I'm not squeamish, I'll be fine with injections. But I wanted to know how it works..? Would I count my carbs? Do I have to have a low-carb keto diet? I asked the doctor but she just said "we'll discuss that later".. if possible I'd prefer to understand what is best, in advance!
