Chiropody

As a Type 1 diabetic I have recived free chiropody care for quite some time now. Last time I saw him my chiropodist said that my doctor's surgery has cut his hours so I can only see him there twice a year, and will have to see him as a private patient in between.
Is this correct? I thought as a diabetic I was entitled to free chiropody.

Hi valgeji,
It would seem that podiatry varies from area to area and some P.C.T.'s have cut back on provision. If you have ongoing foot problems as a diabetic then you have a good case to argue. If it is only for general footcare then this is probably why they are not offering you frequent appointments.
Hope this helps,
Catherine.

Hi Catherine,
Thanks for your reply, it was what I suspected. Our surgery is cutting back in other areas too.

They are planning ahead, when they stop your test strips you won't need a podiatrist as your toes will fall off.

Cynical, ME??? <looks offended>
