Can anyone tell me if my type 2 diabetic husband can have a bit of chocolate as a treat every so often, or what the effects are if he does have too much suger..... many thanx ......

Eat the chocolate, test at one hour and two hours and decide if what he reads on his meter is acceptable. Do the same with all the carbohydrates he eats.

Dark chocolate with a cocoa content of 80% or above is low in carbohydrates, there's a brand called Moser Roth that they sell in Aldi supermarkets which is really nice and cheaper than the rest, each pack contains 5 individual bars at around 4g of carbs each.

Morrisons do a very good own brand 90% cocoa chocolate bar... not expensive either.
