Thanks everyone. It was a relief especially since I kept feeling that cream butter etc was the wrong thing to eat, but apparently not. Yay!
It was really hard especially since I was diagnosed in1991 and was told starchy carbs at every meal and low fat everything!It is a really hard mental barrier to overcome, isn't it?
I know that I kept thinking 'but something this enjoyable HAS to be bad' and then my cholesterol results were just 0.2 higher than before I started high fatting, but my HDL had risen pleasantly, and my Trigs had fallen even lower so my goodish ratios had become optimum. I was very chuffed.
Of course it doesn't work for everyone, but I am really delighted that it works that way for me.
