LDL-c is not the test you are asking about. The test you ask about is available but is expensive. It is rarely done routinely in the UK. It is an LDL Particle test, measuring the big fluffy ones and the little hard ones. Most of our routine UK tests only estimate the entire LDL. It isn't even measured.
