Chronic Fatigue

Hi,

I'm sure people will have experienced this as it's part and parcel of being T1D.

But recently this has become more debilitating, I'll have a full night's sleep and wake up exhausted.

I've sporadically exercised throughout my life, I have found recently that this completely wrecks me and I don't seem to recover very quickly.

Any advice on how to manage these symptoms better?

I have reached out to my GP for a blood test to check Hypothyroidism.

I've got Chronic Fatigue Syndrome with PEM from Covid+... ended up Long Covid.

I'm on Low Dose Naltrexone - liquid 4.5mg to help with CFS/Long Covid/pots and PEM - post-exertional malaise + exercise intolerance.

The LDN will help with energy/pains etc, but it is very very slow process to slowly increase the doses as it takes months for LDN to work esp starting it very very low dose ie 0.100mg.

There's no treatment for PEM.. so do rest a lot and pace - don't push yourself too much.

Thank you for the responses.

I have been taking vitamin D supplements and a multivitamin with iron, these probably take time to have any notable effect.

I have also had covid a couple of times and long covid did cross my mind. I am currently not on statins but didn't specify this so thank you for the post.

I have a GP appointment on Friday so hopefully I can get a blood test done

But I'm alive and 'happy'.
