Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone is doing any clinical trials?

I've put myself forward for one (it happened by accident) but I'm thinking I'll go and find out more about it. It was with a company called Synexus.

Anyone thinking, on one or done one?

Hi,

Here's a link to what they are doing diabetes wise.

https://www.synexusclinic.co.uk/our-studies/diabetes/

I'm going for a chat about the diabetes 2 trial, but as you can see they also have trials for:

Type 2 diabetes and elevated triglycerides
Diabetic Kidney Disease

I'm not advising that anyone go on a trial, I was just wondering about people's experiences?

Sadly for me as I live in the south, its going to be a trek to Reading, they seem to be concentrating their study in the midlands and north.

For anyone looking for trials, the NIHR (National Institute for Health and Research) is a good place to start. As well as trials running in various locations, they have regional centre with special interests in specific areas of research. I am fortunate that my local area has interests in both diabetes and in lifestyle interventions (for all manner of health issues).

The trials database can be found here: https://www.ukctg.nihr.ac.uk/home/

You can register with the site, giving some basic information about yourself, and can be kept updated on new trials for areas of your interest.
