Immune system disturbances in Coeliac Disease.
New research has identified four aspects of immune system disturbances which lead to the development of coeliac disease. Nearly forty different inherent risk factors have now been identified.
The latest findings could speed the way to improved diagnostic treatments for this complaint that affects 1 in 100 of the population and leads to insights into related conditions such as Type 1 diabetes. (Rheumatoid arthritis is also mentioned).
