IS it normal to have cold sweats when your blood sugar levels are getting lower? As I have not been able to get my readings under control and now have been having readings between 12-7 but went down to 4.5 the other day, can anyone tell me if this is normal???? Thanks x

Hi @Jules71823 ,

I haven't looked back at previous posts to see which med's you're using but the most likely explanation is that you are experiencing the symptoms of a hypo' as your body readjusts to lower blood glucose levels. Technically you are not hypo unless you're below 4mmol/L and so your symptoms are referred to as a false hypo, but it can feel just as disconcerting as the real thing.

It should sort itself out in a couple of weeks but monitor the situation ans see your doc if symptoms persist.

HI Urbanracer ,
Thanks for your response to my question, I am on metformoine, glitzacide, and humulin Kwik pen.
UP until last week my bs was between 14-26 at my highest, but this week I have got it down to inbetween 7-12 , which I am happy with ATM
so you think it is a false hypo , thought it may have been the menopause
I'll keep you updated if everything settles and once again thank you x
