coming off insulin after pregnancy?

hi, I am type 2. I have been diabetic since 2003. Since day one taken metformin. Later put on gliclizide. Then as I was trying for a baby, taken off gliclizide & went onto novo rapid & insulatard . Happy to report that I became a mum and all was well with baby.Would like to try and come off insulin and go back to tablets if possible. Anyone else done this? Just moved house and joined new doctors. He didn't seem that positive that it may be possible. However old consultant said it may be possible. Any advice?
