I have been using a Libre2+ for 3 months and decided I would try Libre3. So today I activated the Libre3 and my Libre2+ finishes tomorrow afternoon. So 36 hours to compare them both.
Immediately I saw the Libre3 is showing 1mmol higher than the Libre2+. But maybe after 24 hours it might come in closer? I want to get a steady reading tomorrow and compare the 2+ & 3 & do a finger prick, all at the same time, should be interesting. I also see that the 3 is lagging the 2+ as glucose levels change during meals etc maybe 5 minutes! or so, which is not good as I know the 2+ is lagging already my finger pricks by 7-10mins. The 3 is supposed to be more accurate MARD 7.9% compared with the 2+ at 8.2% but again, this might change after first 24 hours in use.
You would think the dashboard would be the same, it looks the same, but the time scale is longer on the 3, its 12 hours instead of 8 hours on the 2+, it compresses the graph! Not sure I like that.
Also on the 2+ when you lose the signal, top right is a button you click to scan the sensor. Also this is good to click, if you want to record a reading in the logbook. I have found this useful as the 2+, over time smooths out the peaks and can sometimes show you that you haven't had a low/high when you know you have.
The 3 doesn't have this tab and you have to wait till it automatically picks the signal up again--not good, the app needs a software update to bring back that button in my view.
So we will see what tomorrow brings!
