Rude people! Not being able to do the things I want to do.
It has been brought to my attention that, certain members of this forum, who belong to another diabetic forum ,have been publicly slagging off the moderators of this forum.I find this totally unacceptable forum practice. If those members would like to address me personally with their complaints/concerns via PM ,where I at least have the right to reply then please do so.I look forward to a free exchange of views and a resolution to this problem.

Sugarless Sue......moderator.

Hi Sue

I reckon I know the board you are talking about and they have quite nasty about me - I am the ultimately stupid dietitian - nasty people I think!

Ally

Well that is outrageous and reminds me of school playgrounds where I was just as guilty of slaggin off old friends to new ones...I was 6 at the time and have learnt since then.....it does show that these people do not have the foggiest idea of problem solving.

But you know its sad to say that some people, when they feel out of their depth or inferior in any way on an issue they tend to not address their own shortcomings and instead they lash out at other people and use it as smoke screen, it makes them feel better.

I pity these people and wonder what they think that they are achieving by doing this, its of no benefit to anyone at all, neither in this or any other forum; perhaps they are angry for failing to successfully address their issues and some people tend to forget that there is a real person sitting at the other end of this line, a nice and helpful, caring one at that.

Sorry Sue and Ally that you have to experience this, I think the majority of people in this forum are grateful for your help and support (even if we dont always agree on some issues, but thats no bad thing, we are not sheep to follow everyone else, what we end up doing is our choice, doctors/your/my word is not gospel) there is no need to **** anyone off at all.

All the best and thanks

Karen

I must be a major innocent. I haven't come across any of this. Still I'd not be rude about anyone (except the local consultant diabetologist)

Thank you Eddie,we do our best here and I'm damned if I'll apologise to anyone for the way we run this forum. This is a community and ,as such,we value lots of different input that maybe a more heavily moderated forum would not tolerate.I like to think we have the balance right. If anyone thinks differently talk to us about it .We are all adults.

i hope the Mods have sent a PM to the individuals concerned in this 'sitation'

it's not very comfortable posting here, wondering who 'they' are, that are going to criticise us publically in another forum

No PM's will be sent,Tiger Lily, the aim of this post has been achieved and I consider the matter closed.

I think your brill Sue, so don't let em get u down. Iv'e looked at other forums, but stick with this one it's the best!!!!! I know u considered it closed but I don't come on till late/early so I missed it

Why was the matter opened? You might not like what some are saying elsewhere but Individuals are and, on the Internet, should remain free to express opinions. Censorship in any guise is to be deplored.

I don't necessarily agree with a lot of what I read on this forum but I am happy that individuals can freely express their views. If you don't like criticism, don't post. Kitchen and heat come to mind.

The point,Buachaille, was not THAT they were saying it,but that they were not saying it to my face where I could reply .If anyone has a problem on this site they are very free to address that problem here so we can sort it out.

To all you hard working moderators,

I owe a debt of gratitude to all of you who put so much of your time and effort into running this forum which is by far the best, the most informative and generally the most friendly. So please stick with it and ignore this vindictive jealousy.

Thank you Sue for bringing this out in the open as it was done to reassure us all that if there is a problem the moderators will do their best to help sort out any issues.

There should be no rivalry between different diabetes forums, people should and do feel free to post what they want as long as it is diabetes related of course - but please everyone do remember that moderators are human beings with feelings too and slagging them off in another forum is just undermining them and solves nothing.

Good that these posts have been deleted, and I hope this kind of thing will not be repeated.

Karen

Get real. What prevents you from accessing the other site and expressing your opinion/redressing any adverse remarks? No need at all to raise the issue on this forum - unless of course you want to stop the individuals posting.

Buachaille my point was to have them express their discontent here so that it could be redressed.I don't have a problem with people talking about me,when do they not! but I do prefer to be able to discuss issues up front. Is there anything wrong with that?
I'm going to close this thread now as I really don't want it developing into a right /wrong scenario.I think I have expressed my point of view on the subject and that was my aim in the first place.
If you have a problem with the site or the Mods please, talk to us!!
