Bit confused here. T2, not taking any form of oral hypoglycaemics (came off metformin 6 weeks ago) but have just had that familiar old feeling - sweating, shaky, light headed.... tested my BG and was a bit surprised to find it 3.4 mmol/l. What's that all about? Had a decent lunch, low carb with potato as the source of carbs... have just been sitting at my desk all day, nothing phyiscal at all...
Hope you don't mind me jumping in here, I have just found out I have Pre diabetes and I have also been suffering from the symptoms of what seemed like a hypo but without the low BG :? .Yesterday I was on another diabetes web page and come across a very similar question. I can't tell you how good it is to know I'm not going mad; I was told that only diabetics’ had hypo's so to be honest I started to think I was a hypochondriac , but my symptoms where real and so similar it was uncanny. The link was very useful and has taken a weight of my mind.
Part of the symptoms of a hypo come from the actual lack of glucose in the blood. The rest are caused by a dump of neuroendocrines like adrenalin and cortisol. The latter effect can be caused by a rapid drop in BG even if it doesn't reach anywhere like "genuine" hypo levels
