I was diagnosed a mere 6 months ago at the age of 48 and initially I was injecting on a fixed regime using a set number of units per day and per meal. Within a couple of weeks I had mastered Carb counting and was injecting to suit my meals. recently, to avoid hypos particularly overnight, I have reduced my basal and bolus insulin. Yet my sugar levels are NOT rising and I am constantly having to eat snacks to keep my levels up. Basically now I am on very little insulin and still my BGL drops. I am having no other ill effects, no hypos (due to snacks) no high readings, no ketones. Any professionals out there can tell me what is happening? I know I may still be honeymooning but in all honesty I think I have never been healthier in my life and I do sometimes wonder if my diagnosis is incorrect. As a footnote I am living my life as I was before diagnosis, no more or less exercise, my normal day to day routine etc etc. Any advice would be most appreciated as I am totally confused

I'm not a medical professional, but I think you need to go see your doctor ASAP.

I have found that I am much more prone to hypos as winter sets in. Have your low blood sugars coincided with a drop in temperature?

Not at all, I work indoors and exercise indoors etc, don't spend too much time outdoors and keep myself comfortable at generally all times
