Contour next usb

Does anybody use this blood sugar testing machine? Is there a way to erase the log book ?
 
I'm not sure you can @Aaron187 , even removing the batteries won't erase the memory of a bg meter.
 
OK thanks I'll just make a note on the machine I was using an Abbott freestyle optium neo but got a free contour next off the dcuk website I tested the 2 to see if there was any difference the Abbott was reading 9.9 while the contour next was reading 8.9 so I tested with control solution and the contour was fine i told my nurse she said bin the Abbott the hospital give those out to save money
 
It would be a rare event for two different meters to give the same bg reading, but that said I previously used the Contour USB meters and found them to be a great little meter and never really doubted the accuracy.
 
The problem is I've not been diagnosed yet all I know is I'm diabetic they sent bloods off in September which got sent to the wrong place so the antibodies check wasn't done I recently had to have them sent again so at the moment I need to be very careful and accurate with my readings as my medication depends on it. And the difference in readings could potentially be the difference in a hypo or not
 
I hope to find out in 5 weeks the results of the Gad bloods test
 
I think you may be able to reset the contour using the computer software. You download that free off the site. I love mine, I went through a few that I did not like before settling on the contour.
 
I can't back this up with any evidence, but - I don't think it is possible to erase logs on any approved BG meters.

My reasoning for the above is legality issues, one example of this being testing before driving. If you could delete readings as an when it suits; then it would be very counter productive? I have no idea really, but I'd imagine as @noblehead has said - the memory is protected.

That's a good point Grant, never really thought of it in that context.
 
I have no idea what the laws are in Canada about testing before driving as I am not on insulin but that makes sense.

I looked it up. You do not have to test before driving although it is recommended but you do have to report diabetes to the drivers licensing if you use insulin or hypo causing drugs. You have to pass a doctors evaluation demonstrating good control. Thats it here.
