Hello,

I am new to this forum and have Type 2 for the last 12 years. Currently I am on metformin and diet control. I am looking for any diet and exercise related study/trial around Nottingham area which I can take part in, to see if helps in reversing type 2.

Hi and welcome!
There is a wealth of information on this forum that will be of help to you. Have a browse and ask whatever you wish. The section on success stories is a good place to start. It will show you how many of us were where you are now. Good luck!

Please share thank you

Thanks. I have started doing 15000 steps daily and reduced my carb intake, I have started reducing a bit weight too. But I think I did the mistake of not taking metformin regularly, thinking it was no longer required. This has resulted in increasing my Hba1c, so need to focus next three months

@yeswecan - I don't know what exists in Nottingham, but certainly Leicester has an NIHR Unit at the Leicester Diabetes Centre, where they are always running research programmes, and always looking for volunteers to take part in the work they do. The Leicester unit is also associated with lots of Loughborough too, although the research running out of Loughborough is generally exercise based, as far as I understand.

Of course, they may not have anything too well aligned to what you're particularly looking for, but if you contact the lasy at the bottom of this web page, she would give you more context on some of the forthcoming programmes, because anything already in place will have their volunteers.

Please share, I'm making progress but am struggling with the fasting numbers. Although I've got it from 6.7 to around 5.5-6.0 so far but need to try harder. I'm intermittent fasting every day, walking 3 miles daily at 6 mph so I'm reaching 80% of my max heart rate and have lost weight that takes my BMI from 25.2 to 20.5.

Still not enough though. Would appreciate any help or advice I can get.
