I don't know about official study/trials happening in the Nottingham area(I'm also from Nottingham), but I reversed it via rapid weight loss(40kg) via intense cardio exercise, running, press-ups, squats etc, ever day without fail, and diet, and research does back up exercise and weight loss in reversing insulin resistance. Some here have also reversed their type 2 diabetes by using the Newcastle universe research on cutting kcal to 800 per day for rapid weight loss, as rapid weight loss helps get rid of fat around the liver, and pancreas to restore normal function.
I would be interested in sharing what I did.
