Cough relief

Any tips on how to ease the annoying cough i have .Read that cough meds are useless even the sugar free ones and honey is a no no so any ideas
 
I have an old remedy that seems to work for me. You need a turnip (not parsnip) and some sugar. Slice the turnip and between each layer in a breakfast bowl put turnip/sugar/turnip/sugar etc and then put it in the fridge. Some hours later get a teaspoon and take a couple teaspoons of the fluid.

Sorry that it is sugar but you did ask.
