I can ask for one, what does it stand for?Could you ask for a hba1c?
I have been testing before I eat and 2hrs post meal, generally getting between 6 and 8Are you also testing before you eat? Post meal levels are best analysed if you know what you were before you ate.
A fasting BG of 5.5 is normal.
3 weeks ago, the request was made to check up as I have PCOS, couldn’t tell you the last time I had one of these check ups. I was tested for gestational diabetes between october and December 2017 and not diagnosed. I agree, the doctor needs to be looking into why I feel so awful at times! When did you have the fasting blood test that showed your BG levels are normal at 5.5 for a non diabetic. Maybe your symptoms are due to something else so the doctor needs to find out why you are having them
Unfortunately I haven’t had the kit to hand when I’ve had the sudden migraine. I definitely think you’re right, I need to see a doctor again!Hi @DidoMcVig
Have you been able to take a BG reading when you have your migraines?
If you feel better after eating, they may not be related to high BG ... or anything diabetes related. The only way to tell is to test.
And then you will have more data to take to your doctor. Which I recommend as those migraines sound nasty.

Also, the 5.5 reading was taken 3 weeks ago but I’ve been feeling increasingly rubbish throughout the day since then, feeling better only when I eat something.Testing before I eat and 2hrs after I eat
No, but I will do, good call!Have you checked the expiry date on the test strips? Just in case..
I had a blood test 3 weeks ago at my doctors, the last few days I’ve been doing my finger prick tests at home, I am due another blood test next Thursday at the doctors. Not sure what Hba1c is?Did you get a Hba1c test or just a fasting finger prick test?

I will need to discuss my blood test results in more detail with my GP I think, the conversation I had yesterday didn’t mention this. Thank you!The HbA1c test is a blood test. It is a measurement of the amount of glucose in your haemoglobin averaged over the previous 2 to 3 months, and is the test used to diagnose T2 diabetes. (It is not used for gestational diabetes)
