Hi everyone. Firstly, what a fab forum this is! So many helpful tools and supportive people.
So, I think I’m prediabetic. Reason being, I have many of the symptoms which have been noticeable for the past few weeks or months and I’ve been getting high BS levels throughout the day. I have a test kit that I was given when pregnant, turns out I didn’t have gestational diabetes thankfully. So I’m testing in the morning (fasting test) and 2hrs post meals. Getting reading of around 7 and 8 half the time, high 6’s the rest of the time. Got bloods done 3 weeks ago as I’m registered as having polycystic ovary syndrome, and having spoken to the doctor today, she says my blood sugar levels from the fasting test were normal at 5.5. That’s as may be, but since then my kit results aren’t great, and my symptoms have got worse, especially getting sudden intense migraine type pains across my eyes, to the point I cannot open my eyes, only helped by eating something immediately. I explained all my symptoms to the doctor, but she remains unconcerned or convinced I have prediabetes, where as I belive I do, and am now on this website and forum finding out all I can to help myself.
My question is, has anyone else had a similar experience and if so, did you insist on further investigations by your GP?
