Couldn't believe it.

Being recently diagnosed type2 I'm still learning a lot and feeling my way through this and cutting my carbs a bit to help.

My wife was out shopping today and came back with some Golden Wonder crisps. Cheese @ Onion, great I said and we had a bit of a laugh about it lol

So I thought is scan or to get the details of the nutrition and used MyFitnessPal and scanned it in, here is a pic of the result. Check out the nett carbs, those that sugar
 
Personally I stay as far away from factory produced highly processed "food" as possible. And I wouldn't trust that label!
 
That definitely sounds wrong. I have a bag of Walkers cheese and onion in my hand and the label says 13.2g carbs and 0.7g sugar for the 25g bag. That would make sense to me. And in any case how could the Golden Wonder crisps have 0 carbs and yet contain 0.7g sugar?
 
According to Tesco website, one packer has 13.1gms of carbs.

Ingredients:
Potatoes, Vegetable Oils: Sunflower Oil, Rapeseed Oil, Cheese & Onion Seasoning [Dried Onion, Salt, Dextrose, Autolysed Yeast Powder, Dried Cheese (Milk), Flavour Enhancers: Monosodium Glutamate, Sodium 5'Ribonucleotide; Acid: Citric Acid, Colour: Paprika Extract, Flavourings, Pepper Extract.]
 
Crisps are made from spuds. Spuds are carbs. QED they have carbs.

I never ever use MFP nutrition entries. I do use it to log my food, but I always use my own nutrition findings. It needs a bit of research sometimes, but I have so far found everything I've needed.

I do use the MyFitnessPal database, but I also check what it says. I suspect some users who create/amend the entries are overly optimistic about how few calories, carbs and fat are in certain products. That said I've also found entries with far too many calories when compared to the original packaging and similar products from other manufacturers.

The one thing I'm also wary of is meat where sometimes the calories on MFP are for raw and sometimes for cooked. It can be very confusing at times.
