is there a way of doing this without problems? Eg if we met in a public place, and used this forum to alert people?anna29 said:In an ideal world all members on here could hook up in local areas and form new support groups. Then we wouldnt feel so isolated living with our diabetes.

Absolutely loved your reply and sooo true too.
I live in the north west lancashire, all we have up here is a monthly support group , every time I go to this the room is at full capacity to the point we need a larger room and new venue.
Once a month there and up at the clinic is the ONLY time I ever get chance to meet other diabetics .
I can hardly ask my own gp for other diabetics addresses living near me , turn up on their doorstep , tell them to pop the kettle on .
I too would love to chat to others near me in person and have some new diabetic [understanding] friends.
We must have over 50 persons at the monthly support meetings and each time more attend, so there is a clear and positive need for this.
