cure for diabetes at last (this is for real)

?

I am type1 diagnosed at three. It really is a daily battle and sometimes a minute by minute battle. I get tired sometimes..
We really do need a cure...
hi Nicole, I am 46 years old and had it.since I was ten, I also have m.s. and addisons disease, yes it is knackering and last year in November I had to stop work. I hope this will prove to be positive in the fight for a cure for this problem, we have been told at least ten years away but its great news for future generations, so let us all be positive.

That sounds fantastic, is it a cure for everyone as I have not seen the times?

Take it with a pinch of salt,
I'm now 54 was diagnosed with type 1 age 12,
The specialist doctor at the time promised me there would be a cure within 10 years,
that was 42 years ago!
It's not been easy but Can't say the disease has stopped me doing most things or been that bad for me.
I'm p! $$£d of waiting for the cure and no longer expect to see it within my life time.

It's just a shame that the government doesn't acknowledge that us type 1 s have a significantly lower life span,
Type1 having a life expectancy far lower than the state pension age is just not on, the pension age should be adjust for type 1 s to compensate,

Apparently the injected islet cells are contained in some kind of capsule that blocks white blood cells so that the immune system doesn't attack them as alien cells (which of course it would anyway) and therefore the same would be true for the kind of attack that caused our diabetes in the first place.
