Hey there,
diagnosis was in May 2017, started LCHF right away. Some weight was dropping. From about 96 Kg to about 83 Kg at the lowest. Fasting blood glucose has stayed rather elevated. Between 6.7 mmol and 7.2 mmol is what I reach. Gained some weight back, currently the scale shows about 87 Kg and I am somehow not happy, feeling rather tired.
HbA1c was in the normal range last time checked, only thing the doctor was worried about my low white blood cell count.
I am currently quite stressed working as a nursery nurse, in a setting where not enough staff is available.
I have tried eliminating dairy, now substituting my Saturday and Sunday coffee with almond milk.
During the week it depends whether I eat breakfast or just take tea with some butter (which will last the whole day)
If I eat breakfast it is usually eggs and bacon.
I only take a lunch box with me, when my period is about to be due.
For the evening I enjoy having my meat.......and salad or cauliflower........
Do you have any suggestions about actions to take? Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you Goonergal for the quick reply,
well must admit the information is small. And have not had many pre and post meal readings lately. But when I measure it seems alright about 5 mmol pre meal and 6.2 post meal. Underlying problem could also be thyroid. Actually I am blessed with an overactive thyroid, usually in the spring, but from the personal feeling I am more underactive thyroid.
The last HbA1c was taken in December and was 5.7% , fine I guess.
Probably will have to go to the doctor the get a check up.
Eating low carb, of course I will continue, because I have gotten so used to it now....and it has been helpful all the way
