Hi All

I have just finished the DAFNE course and it really is a worthwhile thing to attend.
Although most of the info taught I already had an idea of this course really does make it all so much clearer
Who else has attended this and feels this way?
If a lot of us have and do would it be worth this site setting up a sub forum for DAFNE graduates to share their ideas and knowledge with each other

Must be 5 years since I did the DAFNE course, much like yourself Bri I did know a lot of it before enrolling on the course but still ended up learning new things, there is a forum (not on this site) for DAFNE graduates where people share their experiences.

Yeah I am on that forum but this one definatly has more users and I think a fair portion of the good advice on here comes from Dafne graduates

I can't say for certain if the Admin would allow a sub-forum for DAFNE graduates, you could send a pm to Giverny and ask.

Im glad you got something out of it, most do and it's worth completing if only to take the parts that you need from it. I completed it last year , many years post diagnosis, simply because I'm a curious as a cat and wanted to know what I was missing

I enjoyed meeting other Type 1's face to face, but was fairly shocked at the number of no shows on the course and the drop out rate.

All depends how committed people are to wanting to control their illness, our group was great with nobody dropping out
Amazes me that some people just don't want to make the changes needed to gain good control, we get one go in this world, why shorten it!!

I think for some, it was just too much like work ! For example, one lass had for years just taken a wild guess at what she was injecting for what she was eating, and despite a HbA1c of 90 didn't want to bother " with all that "!

Her view was that she had no complications (now) , so just carry on. She dropped out after day 1 .
