If it's the top result for DAFNE in the App Store and Google Play it looks like your standard 'we developed an app once 3 years ago and then never updated it again'.
Thank goodness Google is about to get tough on stagnant apps from the next version of Android with the minimum targeted SDK requirement.
The app is pretty terrible, basic doesn’t quite describe it! It’s been the same (certainly on the surface) since I first downloaded it in 2010! The carbohydrate database certainly hasn’t been updated in that time, and is very incomplete anyway. It feels very much like they crowdsourced some values when they started out and then ran out of steam.
Agree with @becca59 .
DAFNE aims to get 10 Type 1 diabetics in a room together for 6 to 7 hours a day for a week.
During that time " The DAFNE course" wants and will teach you a great deal regarding diabetes control.
During the time " The fellow diabetics " will talk, discuss, inform, learn, chat and laugh with each other.
The two combined make for great way of learning the best methods for greater control.
Peer support is incredibly valuable. I don’t know any other T1s in meatspace, but I do have a buddy online - we’ve really helped each other keep on top of things. Exchange of ideas, helping the other look at an issue from another perspective... as sopportive as my family are, nobody knows what it’s like to live with unless they live with it too.
