Welcome to the forum @sebbyg

If you have the book Think Like a Pancreas have a good read of the section which discusses bolus timings, once you know how to carb count correctly and you get the bolus timings right it can make all the difference to postprandial bg levels.

Good luck.

Sorry to intrude but is there any way to get on the DAFNE course without being referred. I was diagnosed in August 2 years back and I've not yet been on the course. I got sent a letter a few months back with a date but the date of the appointment was months before the letter arrived...after that I was told I couldn't get back in the waiting list :/

It's a very good course. I attended the course last year. Did you have the delightful Nicola running the course?

I don't think you can self refer to the DAFNE course, you will need a referral from your endo/DSN or your GP.

In the meantime, have a look at the online version - http://www.bertieonline.org.uk

I'm not sure I understand? You were given an appointment, but it was so far in advance that you were told, you forgot about the course or you couldn't go?

The courses run 2-3 times a year in some hospitals, just ask them to put your name down again for the next available course.
