Dawn Phenomenon?

The dawn phenomenon is really tricky. I have had type 2 for about eight years now and for the first five I was in denial, and never took the Metformin and ate and drank what I like. Then I had a diabetic review which did not look good. Now I test every day at different times, but I cannot understand the variance in BG levels. Yesterday morning I took a reading at 1.5 hours after breakfast and it was 17.2. The breakfast consisted of two hard boiled eggs, two wholemeal toasts with butter and marmite, and I had a smallish fried lunch. Then I took a reading at 17.30 hours, and it had dropped to 8.6 !
Was the first reading a rogue one ? I worry about my feet, but fortunately have got on to an NHS programme where I have them looked at once a month. Eyesight is perfect so that's a bonus. When hungry, my legs go weak, but that might be a by product of a bad spinal problem,. However once I have eaten a roll and a chocolate bar, the leg feeling is restored.

Those are some seriously high numbers @petergflower and by the sound of your menu, you're still eating more carbs than would be optimal for good BG control. I'd try ditching the bread and see how you go.
