CHEESE!!!
So, Another issue I have is dealing with large meals... I feel im fairly good at counting my carbs and dosing for the meal - Although im currently testing and tryign to get my basel insulin correct.

This is my problem... I eat a big meal say on the weekend - Usually a meal out. (Chinese, carvery, Steak - Something along these lines) Not too often i must add. My bloods are fine before the meal, I eat and inject and 2 hours after my post bloods are OK. The come bedtime they are fine too.

Then I wake up in the morning and they have rocketed.. .Y!!

I have read a bit about fats and proteins etc possibly having an effect, what can i try to combat this?

Thankyou

A high fat meal delays the digestion of the meal. Split dosing can work in these circumstances but you need to discuss this with your diabetes consultant or DSN.

Split dosing the fast acting?

Yes, but this is something that you need to discuss with your diabetes team first.

I have the problem the other way round, I spike straight away then once my novorapid has had it's 4 hours to work I'm usually back somewhere around target
