What are your experiences with having dentistry?

about 3/4 weeks ago I went to my dentist practice as I had sensitivity in a back tooth and with going on holiday to another country soon though it a good idea.
I said that I wished X-rays as I have 4 very very old crowns and could not remember having had one in some time. Well, seems I had a hole under a far back molar and gum erosion round a crown or two. Get rushed out, only appointment I could get was 7th Feb!! On the way home I realise she didn’t give me any xrays, so challenged this with surgery to be told that the dentist said I didn’t need one! I had to get an emergency appointment and she took an x-ray showing tooth eroded below the gum and now I had to have an extraction!

I am concerned because I got no advice about experiencing dentistry as a T2 diabetic, what I should do, advice on glucose levels or even where to ask. She seemed oblivious to any potential problems! I’ve read round the web and I did find a good international site with advice.

I found my experience unbelievable as a Complementary Practitioner of 25 years and knowing just a tiny bit, I’d ask questions to find out if my prospective patient was on drugs and if they were stable. She didn’t even ask if I was on an anticoagulant I had to tell her!

UPDATE
Consulted a new dentist and found previous one hadn’t done a thing in 15 years! Now all the work I needs going to be £5k
